In the fall of 2012, Stacey and Brydon Cruise purchased a 205-acre parcel of land, just north of Lower Buckhorn Lake, twenty-five minutes outside of Peterborough, ON. The towering trees and naturally rugged landscape offered a peaceful yet challenging environment for outdoor activity. The beauty of the property offered both a place for contemplation and for unlimited exploration. Stacey and Brydon immediately thought, “We have to share this.”
Family and friends would gather on weekends and swap out their weekday attire for hard hats and work boots to build a trail system, bridges and gathering spaces. Tecasy Ranch was taking shape as each new endeavour was completed.
Adding three more parcels of land, one in 2014, and two in 2019, to the original property increased the size to 550 acres. The added acreage deepened the desire to somehow open the property up to others who would appreciate the property’s inherent power and its capacity for giving.
In 2016, the Tecasy Ranch board of directors was established. The purpose of the board was to brainstorm ideas and to put Tecasy Ranch on a trajectory that would best serve those who experience the property. With positive impact as our guiding principle we strive to nurture the human spirit by providing the opportunity to connect with nature in whatever way benefits the individual or group.
Tecasy Ranch is a place of opportunity, Where Good Things Happen!!
Wondering about the origin of the name Tecasy?
Years ago, Brydon created an anagram of his wife’s name and as a love letter to Stacey, Tecasy Ranch was born.
